Let Me Despawn is an optimization plugin designed to improve server performance by refining mob despawn rules. It effectively manages entity counts by ensuring that unintentional persistent mobs are removed, helping to maintain a stable tick rate.

It supports a wide range of loaders including Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt, covering Minecraft versions from 1.12.2 through 1.20.1.

Installing Let Me Despawn

On AwakeNode

  1. Navigate to your server in the AwakeNode panel and open the Plugin Installer.
  2. Search for "Let Me Despawn" and click Install.
  3. Restart your server to apply the changes.

On other hosts / manually

  1. Download the latest version of Let Me Despawn from Modrinth.
  2. Connect to your server via SFTP or use your panel's File Manager.
  3. Upload the .jar file into your server's plugins or mods folder, depending on your loader.
  4. Restart the server to initialize the plugin.

Common issues

  • Plugin not loading: Ensure you are using a compatible server type (Bukkit, Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt) and that your Minecraft version is between 1.12.2 and 1.20.1.
  • Mobs not despawning as expected: Check the plugin configuration file to ensure the despawn rules are set to your desired sensitivity. If you need to adjust advanced settings, use the File Manager to edit the config.
  • Conflicts with other optimization plugins: If you are using other mob-capping or entity-clearing plugins, they may conflict. Test by disabling other similar plugins to isolate the issue.

Performance

Let Me Despawn is lightweight and designed to reduce CPU load by preventing entity buildup. It does not require significant extra RAM to run. If you find your server is still struggling with entity-related lag, ensure your plan has sufficient RAM for your player count and entity density. On AwakeNode, upgrading your plan automatically updates your memory allocation, but if you require specific JVM startup flag tuning to handle high entity counts, please open a ticket with Support for assistance.
