What it means
The server started, saw that the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement hasn't been accepted, and stopped. The console shows:
[ServerMain/INFO]: You need to agree to the EULA in order to run the server. Go to eula.txt for more info.
Nothing is wrong with your server. Mojang requires every server owner to accept the EULA once.
The fix
- Open the Files tab.
- Open
eula.txtin the server's top folder. - Change
eula=falseto:
eula=true
- Save and start the server.
By doing this you're agreeing to Minecraft's EULA. The parts that matter for servers are about money: you can't sell gameplay advantages, and anything you sell must be available to everyone. See how to make money from your server without breaking the EULA.
It keeps coming back
If eula.txt resets to false each time, the file you edited isn't the one the server reads:
- Make sure you edited
eula.txtin the top folder, next toserver.properties, not one inside another folder. - Check the change saved: reopen the file after saving.
- If you changed server software on the Startup tab, a fresh
eula.txtmay have been made. Set it totrueagain.
Questions
Is it safe to set eula=true?
Yes. It just records that you accept Mojang's terms for running a server.
Why didn't my server ask me?
Servers don't ask interactively. They write eula.txt with eula=false and stop, waiting for you to change it.
