Your server has one port for Minecraft. Some plugins and mods run a second service that needs its own: voice chat, Bedrock players through Geyser, and live web maps. If they try to share the Minecraft port, they fail with errors like Address already in use or Failed to bind.
1. Add a port
Open the Network tab and add a port. You'll get a number from your server's range. Note it down.
2. Tell the plugin to use it
Set the port in the plugin's config, then restart the server.
Simple Voice Chat
Edit config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties (on Paper: plugins/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties):
port=25601
Voice chat uses UDP. Leave voice_host empty unless you know you need it.
Geyser (Bedrock players)
Edit plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml (or config/Geyser-Fabric/config.yml on Fabric). Under bedrock:
bedrock:
port: 25602
Bedrock players then connect with your server's address and this port, not the Java one.
BlueMap
Edit plugins/BlueMap/webserver.conf (or config/bluemap/webserver.conf):
port: 25603
The map is then at http://your-server-address:25603.
Dynmap
Edit plugins/dynmap/configuration.txt and find webserver-port:
webserver-port: 25603
3. Check it worked
After restarting, look at the Console for the plugin's startup line. Simple Voice Chat logs "Voice chat server started at port ...", Geyser logs "Started Geyser on ...". If you see "Address already in use", the port in the config doesn't match the one you added, or two plugins are set to the same port.
Use a different port for each
Every service needs its own. Voice chat, Geyser and a web map together means three extra ports, all different from your Minecraft port.
Questions
Can voice chat use the same port as Minecraft?
No. Simple Voice Chat runs its own UDP server, which needs a port of its own. Add one on the Network tab.
Players can't hear each other but voice chat says it started.
Check the port in voicechat-server.properties is the one from the Network tab, and that players have the Simple Voice Chat mod installed on their own game too.
Bedrock players can't connect through Geyser.
Make sure they're using the Bedrock port you set in Geyser's config, not the Java port, and that Floodgate or online-mode settings match your setup.
