FerriteCore
Memory usage optimizations
FerriteCore is a powerful optimization mod designed to reduce the memory footprint of your Minecraft server. By streamlining internal processes, it allows for a more stable experience, particularly on modded instances with high memory requirements.
It is compatible with Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt, supporting Minecraft versions from 1.16.5 up to 1.20. It is an essential utility for server owners looking to improve performance without sacrificing features.
Installing FerriteCore
On AwakeNode
- Log in to your server panel and navigate to the Mod Installer.
- Search for "FerriteCore" and select your preferred loader (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt).
- Click Install. The panel will automatically place the file in your mods folder and restart the server.
On other hosts / manually
- Download the correct version of FerriteCore for your loader and Minecraft version from Modrinth.
- Use an SFTP client (like FileZilla) to connect to your server.
- Upload the downloaded
.jarfile to the/modsdirectory in your server's root folder. - Restart your server to apply the changes.
Common issues
- Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version exactly matches your server's Minecraft version and loader. Using the wrong version will cause the server to crash on startup.
- Missing Dependencies: Some versions of FerriteCore may require additional library mods. Check the Modrinth page for any listed dependencies.
- Conflicting Mods: If the server fails to start after installation, check your
latest.logfile for conflicts with other optimization mods.
Performance
FerriteCore is designed to lower RAM usage, which can help prevent crashes caused by memory exhaustion. While this mod optimizes memory, it does not replace the need for sufficient RAM. If your server continues to experience "Out of Memory" errors, you may need to upgrade your hosting plan. On AwakeNode, upgrading your plan automatically updates your memory allocation (Xmx) without requiring manual configuration. If you are on another host, you must manually edit the -Xmx value in your server's startup script.
