Simple Voice Chat
A working voice chat in Minecraft!
Simple Voice Chat is a powerful Minecraft mod that introduces functional proximity voice chat to your server. It enhances social interaction by allowing players to communicate naturally based on their in-game position.
This mod supports a wide range of loaders including Bukkit, BungeeCord, Fabric, Folia, Forge, NeoForge, Paper, Purpur, Quilt, Spigot, Velocity, and Waterfall, covering Minecraft versions from 1.8.8 to 1.17.1.
Installing Simple Voice Chat
On AwakeNode
- Navigate to your server in the AwakeNode panel and open the Plugin Installer (for Spigot/Paper/Folia) or Mod Installer (for Fabric/Forge/Quilt).
- Search for "Simple Voice Chat" and click Install.
- Restart your server to apply the changes.
On other hosts / manually
- Download the correct version of Simple Voice Chat for your server loader and Minecraft version from Modrinth.
- Use the File Manager or an SFTP client to upload the file to your server's
pluginsormodsfolder. - Restart your server to generate the configuration files.
Common issues
- Voice chat not working: Ensure the port specified in the
voicechat-server.propertiesfile is open and correctly forwarded in your network settings. - Connection errors: Verify that the server IP and port in the mod configuration match your actual server address.
- Version mismatch: Confirm that the mod version installed matches your server's specific Minecraft version exactly.
Performance
Simple Voice Chat is generally lightweight, but high player counts can increase CPU usage due to audio processing. If you experience lag, ensure your server has sufficient RAM allocated for your player base. If you need to adjust memory limits or require specific startup flag optimizations, please contact AwakeNode support for assistance. For other hosts, ensure your -Xmx startup argument is set appropriately for your server's size.
