Alex's Caves

Alex's Caves is an adventure-focused Minecraft mod that adds six rare, distinct cave biomes hidden deep beneath the Overworld surface. Each biome introduces unique mobs, blocks, and world generation features to expand your underground exploration.

Installing Alex's Caves

On AwakeNode

1. Log in to your panel and navigate to the Mod Installer.
2. Select your server and ensure your version is set to Forge or NeoForge 1.20.1 using the Version Changer.
3. Search for "Alex's Caves" and click Install. The panel will automatically handle the file placement and restart your server.

On other hosts / manually

1. Download the correct version of Alex's Caves for 1.20.1 (Forge or NeoForge) from Modrinth.
2. Connect to your server via SFTP.
3. Upload the downloaded .jar file into your server's /mods directory.
4. Restart your server to load the new content.

Common issues

• Mod version mismatch: Ensure you are using the exact version of the mod compatible with Minecraft 1.20.1. Using an incorrect version will cause the server to crash on startup.
• Missing dependencies: Alex's Caves may require specific library mods to function. Check the Modrinth page for any required dependencies and install them alongside the main mod.
• World generation conflicts: If you are adding this mod to an existing world, new biomes will only generate in newly loaded chunks. You may need to travel to unexplored areas to find them.

Performance

Alex's Caves introduces significant new world generation and entities, which can increase the load on your server's CPU and RAM. If you experience lag or TPS drops, ensure your server has sufficient memory allocated. On AwakeNode, upgrading your plan will automatically adjust your Xmx settings. If you are on another host, you must manually edit your startup command to increase the -Xmx flag. For persistent performance issues, please contact our support team to review your startup flags.
