Alex's Mobs

Installing Alex's Mobs

On AwakeNode

1. Navigate to your server in the AwakeNode Panel.
2. Open the Mod Installer from the sidebar.
3. Search for 'Alex's Mobs' and click Install.
4. Restart your server to apply the changes.

On other hosts / manually

1. Download the correct version of Alex's Mobs and the required 'Citadel' library from Modrinth.
2. Use an SFTP client to connect to your server files.
3. Upload both the Alex's Mobs and Citadel .jar files into your server's /mods directory.
4. Restart your server to load the new content.

Common issues

• Missing Dependency: Alex's Mobs requires the 'Citadel' library mod to function. Ensure it is installed in your /mods folder.
• Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version exactly matches your server's Minecraft version (e.g., 1.20.1). Using the wrong version will cause the server to crash on startup.
• Mod Loader Conflict: Ensure you are using a compatible Forge or NeoForge version. If you are unsure, use the Version Changer in the AwakeNode Panel to select a compatible environment.

Performance

Adding over 85 mobs can increase the entity count in your world, which may impact server tick times. If you notice lag, ensure your server has sufficient RAM allocated for your player count and mod list. On AwakeNode, upgrading your plan automatically adjusts your Xmx settings. For other hosts, ensure your startup command includes sufficient -Xmx memory allocation. If performance remains an issue, contact AwakeNode support to review your JVM startup flags for potential optimisations.
