BetterEnd

BetterEnd is a comprehensive Minecraft mod that revitalises the End dimension. It introduces a variety of new biomes, unique mobs, and mysterious rituals to explore, significantly expanding the gameplay experience beyond the vanilla End.

This mod is designed for the Fabric loader and is available for Minecraft versions ranging from 1.19 through 1.21.1.

Installing BetterEnd

On AwakeNode

1. Navigate to the Mod Installer in your server panel.
2. Search for "BetterEnd" and click Install.
3. Restart your server to apply the changes.

On other hosts / manually

1. Ensure your server is running a Fabric-compatible instance.
2. Download the BetterEnd mod file from Modrinth that matches your server's Minecraft version.
3. Use the File Manager or an SFTP client to upload the file to your server's mods directory.
4. Restart the server. Note that you may also need to install the BCLib dependency mod for BetterEnd to function correctly.

Common issues

• Missing Dependency: BetterEnd requires BCLib to run. Ensure both are installed in your mods folder.
• Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version exactly matches your server's Minecraft version (e.g., 1.20.1 mod for 1.20.1 server).
• World Generation Issues: If you are adding this to an existing world, new biomes will only generate in newly explored chunks.

Performance

BetterEnd adds significant content to world generation, which can increase CPU usage during initial exploration of the End dimension. If you experience lag while generating new chunks, consider pre-generating your world. If your server crashes due to memory exhaustion, you may need to upgrade your plan; on AwakeNode, your RAM allocation updates automatically upon upgrading, with no manual configuration required. For other hosts, ensure your startup command includes sufficient -Xmx flags for your modded environment.
