Biomes O' Plenty
Adds 50+ unique biomes to enhance your world, with new trees, flowers, and more!
Biomes O' Plenty is a popular mod that expands Minecraft's world generation by adding over 50 unique biomes. It enhances your server's landscape with a variety of new trees, flowers, and terrain features, making it an essential choice for players focused on adventure and decoration.
This mod is available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, supporting a wide range of versions from 1.7.10 through 1.12.1.
Installing Biomes O' Plenty
On AwakeNode
- Navigate to your server in the AwakeNode panel and open the Mod Installer.
- Search for 'Biomes O' Plenty' and select your preferred loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge).
- Click 'Install'. The panel will automatically place the mod in your
/modsfolder and restart the server.
On other hosts / manually
- Download the correct version of Biomes O' Plenty for your server's Minecraft version and loader from Modrinth.
- Use the File Manager or an SFTP client to upload the
.jarfile to the/modsdirectory of your server. - Ensure your server is running the matching mod loader (Forge, Fabric, or NeoForge) and restart the server to complete the installation.
Common issues
- World Generation Mismatch: If you add the mod to an existing world, new biomes will only appear in newly generated chunks. For a full experience, we recommend starting a new world.
- Missing Dependencies: Ensure you have the required API mods (such as Fabric API or Forge/NeoForge core mods) installed, as Biomes O' Plenty often requires these to function correctly.
- Server Crash on Startup: Check your server logs in the File Manager. If the crash is due to an incompatible version, use the Version Changer to ensure your server type matches the mod requirements.
Performance
Biomes O' Plenty adds significant variety to world generation, which can increase CPU usage during initial exploration as the server generates new terrain. If you experience lag while players are exploring, ensure your server has sufficient RAM allocated.
If you are on AwakeNode, you can upgrade your plan at any time to increase your RAM, which will automatically update your startup settings. If you are on another host, you may need to manually adjust your -Xmx startup flag to allocate more memory to the Java process.
