Fastload is an optimization mod designed to improve server performance by modifying how worlds are loaded. By streamlining these processes, it significantly reduces world loading times, making it an essential tool for servers looking to improve startup efficiency.

It is compatible with Fabric, Forge, and Quilt, and supports Minecraft versions ranging from 1.18.2 up to 1.20, including various snapshots.

Installing Fastload

On AwakeNode

  1. Navigate to the AwakeNode Panel and select your server.
  2. Use the Mod Installer to search for 'Fastload'.
  3. Select your preferred loader (Fabric, Forge, or Quilt) and click Install.

On other hosts / manually

  1. Download the correct version of Fastload for your loader and Minecraft version from Modrinth.
  2. Connect to your server via SFTP.
  3. Upload the .jar file to your server's /mods folder.
  4. Restart your server to apply the changes.

Common issues

  • Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version matches your server's Minecraft version exactly. Using a 1.19.4 version on a 1.20 server will cause a crash.
  • Loader Incompatibility: Fastload requires a specific loader. Ensure you have the correct version of Fabric, Forge, or Quilt installed before adding the mod.
  • Missing Dependencies: Some versions may require additional library mods. Check the Modrinth page for any listed dependencies.

Performance

Fastload is designed to be lightweight, focusing specifically on world generation and loading sequences to reduce CPU spikes during startup. It does not typically require additional RAM to function; however, if you are running a large modpack alongside Fastload, ensure your plan has sufficient memory for your total mod count.

If you experience performance bottlenecks or crashes, please contact AwakeNode support. We can review your server's startup flags and JVM settings to ensure optimal performance. If you find your server is consistently hitting memory limits, upgrading your plan will automatically adjust your Xmx settings without requiring manual configuration.
