- Works with
- Forge, NeoForge
What it does
Sophisticated Backpacks adds backpacks from leather up to netherite, each with more slots, plus upgrades: pickup, filters, magnet, auto-feeding, crafting, smelting, tool swapping and more. They can be worn, placed down, or kept in your inventory.
Install
- Install Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Core (the library it needs) from the Mods tab, both for your loader and Minecraft version.
- Restart.
Players need both mods too. Without Sophisticated Core the server stops with a missing dependency error.
On a server
- Backpack contents are saved with the world, so they're included in your backups.
- Some upgrades (magnet, pickup, feeding) run every tick while active. A few dozen players with magnets on is fine; very large servers may want to limit them in the server config, in the
configfolder or the world'sserverconfigfolder.
Common problems
"Missing or unsupported mandatory dependencies: sophisticatedcore": install Sophisticated Core, matching the version the error asks for.
Items vanished from a backpack after a crash: restore from a backup. Taking regular backups is the only protection against any world data loss.
Questions
Does every player need the mod?
Yes. Backpacks are new items with their own screens, so players need the same mods as the server.
Are backpacks lost if a player dies?
They drop like any item unless keepInventory is on or another mod changes it.
