Waystones
Teleport back to activated waystones. For Survival, Adventure or Servers.
Waystones is a popular Minecraft mod that adds craftable or naturally spawning stones, allowing players to teleport between activated locations. It is an essential tool for adventure and survival servers, providing a balanced transportation system that encourages exploration without the need for complex command-based warps.
The mod is available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, supporting a wide range of versions from 1.16.5 through 1.20.2.
Installing Waystones
On AwakeNode
- Navigate to your server in the control panel and select the Mod Installer.
- Search for 'Waystones' and select your preferred loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge).
- Click Install and restart your server.
On other hosts / manually
- Download the correct version of Waystones from Modrinth for your loader and Minecraft version.
- Stop your server.
- Use an SFTP client to upload the
.jarfile into your server'smodsfolder. - Ensure you have the corresponding mod loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) installed on your server.
- Start your server to generate the configuration files.
Common issues
- Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version matches your server's Minecraft version and loader exactly. Using a 1.20.1 jar on a 1.19.4 server will cause a crash.
- Missing Dependencies: Some versions of Waystones may require additional library mods. Check the Modrinth page for 'Dependencies' and ensure they are also in your
modsfolder. - Configuration Errors: If waystones aren't spawning naturally, check the
waystones-common.tomlfile in your config folder to ensure world generation settings are enabled.
Performance
Waystones is generally lightweight and does not cause significant overhead on server CPU or RAM. However, if you are running a large modpack with many other mods, ensure you have allocated enough memory for your plan. If you experience lag or crashes during world generation, consider upgrading your plan; on AwakeNode, your RAM allocation (Xmx) updates automatically. For other hosts, you must manually adjust your startup flags to increase the -Xmx value.
