Installing YUNG's Better Ocean Monuments

On AwakeNode

  1. Download the version of YUNG's Better Ocean Monuments for your server's software and Minecraft version from its Modrinth page.
  2. Open your server's Files tab, go to the mods folder and upload the .jar file. You can also upload it over SFTP.
  3. Restart your server from the Console tab.

On other hosts / manually

  1. Download the correct version of the mod for your loader and Minecraft version from Modrinth.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Use an SFTP client to upload the .jar file to your server's /mods directory.
  4. Ensure you have the required dependencies installed, then restart your server.

Common issues

  • Missing Dependencies: YUNG's mods often require YUNG's API. Ensure this is installed in your /mods folder.
  • Version Mismatch: Ensure the mod version exactly matches your server's Minecraft version (e.g., 1.21.1).
  • World Generation: If monuments are not appearing, ensure you are exploring new, ungenerated chunks, as the mod will not retroactively change existing monuments.

Performance

YUNG's Better Ocean Monuments adds more complex structures to your world, which can slightly increase CPU usage during initial chunk generation. If you experience lag during exploration, ensure your server has sufficient RAM allocated. On AwakeNode, upgrading your plan will automatically adjust your memory settings. For other hosts, check your startup flags to ensure your -Xmx value is sufficient for your modpack size. To add your own JVM flags, set a custom startup command in your server's Startup tab.

Questions

Does this mod work with existing worlds?+

Yes, but it will only affect newly generated chunks. Existing ocean monuments that have already been loaded will not be updated.

Do I need to install anything else?+

Yes, most of YUNG's mods require YUNG's API to function correctly. Always check the mod page for specific dependency requirements.
