Installing WorldEdit
On AwakeNode
- Navigate to your server in the AwakeNode panel.
- Click on the Plugin Installer.
- Search for "WorldEdit" and click Install.
- Restart your server to apply the changes.
On other hosts / manually
- Download the correct version of WorldEdit from Modrinth for your loader (Bukkit, Fabric, Folia, Forge, NeoForge, Paper, or Spigot).
- Connect to your server via SFTP.
- Upload the
.jarfile into your server'spluginsormodsfolder, depending on your loader. - Restart your server.
Common issues
- Plugin not loading: Ensure you have downloaded the correct file for your specific loader (e.g., Fabric vs. Paper) and that your Minecraft version (1.17.1 through 1.21.1) matches the plugin version.
- Command not found: Confirm the plugin is listed in the
/pluginsor/modscommand output. If it is missing, check your server console for startup errors. - Permission errors: WorldEdit requires specific permissions to function. Ensure you have a permissions plugin like LuckPerms configured correctly for your staff members.
Performance
WorldEdit is highly efficient, but large-scale operations can be resource-intensive. For massive edits, use the //limit command to restrict the number of blocks changed per operation, which prevents server lag or crashes.
If you find your server struggling during complex edits, you may need to upgrade your plan to increase your available RAM. AwakeNode handles this automatically; once you upgrade, your server's Xmx values are updated without manual configuration. If you are on another host, ensure your startup command includes sufficient -Xmx memory allocation for your player count and plugin load.
